Study on Analysis of a Beauty Service Employee’s Quality and Priority Order of Competence Evaluation Factors
Ji-Hye Park
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to analyze a beauty service employee’s quality and priority order of competence evaluation. This study implemented the priority order analysis of the elements belonging to a total of 5 hierarchy factors 1, and 19 hierarchy factors 2 using AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) technique. Looking into the relative importance and priority order of super ordinate factors (through the priority order based on analysis results), importance was attached in the order of ‘service’ (0.386), ‘faithfulness’ (0.211), ‘technique’ (0.174), ‘art’ (0.124), and ‘ability’ (0.106), and looking into the importance and priority order of service sub-factors, importance was attached in the order of ‘communication skills in time of receiving customers’ (0.429), ‘manner and etiquette’ (0.256), ‘personal hygiene’ (0.173), and ‘social service’ (0.141), and it was found that consistiency was secured as the CR value came out under 0.1. Particularly, in the final ranking of Hierarchy factors 2, ‘communication skills in time of receiving customers’, ‘manner and etiquette’ and ‘personal hygiene’, and ‘social service’ were found to be in top 10. Through the analysis of such results, this study could confirm that the beauty service employees put services above others because of the need for continuous communication with customers by the nature of the beauty service job. It is thought that this study could be helpful to the selection and design of educational programs for efficient performance ability by providing the priority order to the evaluation of a beauty service employee’s quality and competence, and also helpful to reduction in problems consequent on fieldoriented educational program development. Nevertheless, there was a limitation in finding a perfect solution to the problem of the overlap between evaluation factors when selecting evaluation factors. Thus, there is the necessity of having to carry out the research on the basis of the more systematic indicators of a beauty service employee’s quality and competence; for instance, there is the necessity of having to do research on the priority order of vocational competency through the indicators provided by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
Key words: AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), Beauty service, Priority order
