ABSTRACT |
This study was to observe sebum excretion, moisture excretion and pH value after applying 5%
benzoyl peroxide lotion on acne skin.
Volunteers were 8 people age of 20's, who had acne skin and sebum excretion, moisture excretion
and pH value were measured in advance before and 30min, 1hour and 2hours after cleansing. After
seeing with naked eyes, volunteers were divided 2 groups, who had the similar skin condition, who
were that the one group applied 5% benzoyl peroxide lotion only and the other group was cared
acne treatment with applying 5% benzoly peroxide lotion. Both groups applied benzoyl peroxide lotion
for 4weeks and sebum excretion, moisture excretion and pH value were observed every week.
The results were as follows,
First, when sebum excretion was compared among anatomical sites and time, sebum excretion
were higher forehead, nose, chin, cheek and crow's foot in order before and 1hour after cleansing
(p<0.05).
Second, sebum excretion during time decreased in the group which applied 5% benzoyl peroxide
lotion only (p<0.001) and in the group which was cared acne treatment with applying 5% benzoyl
peroxide lotion (p<0.05).
Third, decreasing rate of sebum excretion was 38.9% in the group which applied 5% benzoyl peroxide
lotion only and that of sebum excretion was 53.4% in the group which was cared acne treatment
with applying 5% benzoyl peroxide lotion. The result showed that decreasing rate of sebum
was higher in cared acne treatment group.
Forth, when the level of moisture excretion during time was compared between the group which
applied 5% benzoyl peroxide only and the group which was cared acne treatment with applying 5%
benzoyl peroxide lotion, the study showed that the decreasing rate of hydration excretion was much
higher in the group which was cared acne treatment (p<0.05). |
