A Study on Application for Cosmeceutical Ingredient of Nine Crude Drugs

ABSTRACT |
The anti-oxidative activities and tyrosinase inhibitory activities of nine crude drugs (Moutan Cortex Radicis(MCR), Rubi Fructus(RF), Arecae Semen(AS), Epimedii Herba(EH), Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix(SMR), Cnidii Rhizoma(CR), Alpiniae Katusumadaii Semen(AKS), Galla Rhois(GR), Curcumae Logae Rhizoma(CLR)) were investigated. We prepared ethanol extracts. Fractionation is n-hexane and dichloromethane and ethyl acetate and n-butanol and water. This is measured DPPH assay, NBT/XO assay, tyrosinase assay. Ethyl acetate fraction of Galla Rhois(GR) and butanol fraction of Alpinia Katsumadai Semen(AKS) and ethyl acetate fraction of Moutan Cortex Radicis(MCR) and Arecae Semen(AS) had activities so these crude drug are possibility of developing natural anti-oxdative resource. Also, ethyl acetate fraction of Galla Rhois(GR), Moutan Cortex Radicis(MCR) and Arecae Semen(AS) had tyrosinase inhibitory activities. Therefore, these results suggest that ethyl acetate fraction of Galla Rhois(GR) and Moutan Cortex Radicis(MCR)and Arecae Semen (AS) will be developed as a functional cosmetic agent, such as excellent whitening agent.
